Early on in the planning of this unique establishment, EMI was contacted and a formal request was submitted asking for help with the design of the building. Engineers Ministries International, out of Colorado, put together a group of ten Christian engineers with an all round selection of disciplines and sent them down to Guatemala for ten days of assessment, study and intense concentration as to exactly what it was that we were planning to initiate on behalf of the underprivileged youth of a country endeavouring to recover from 36 years of civil war.
The cost to us was simply to provide food, shelter and transport. EMI, from the outset, has been no small blessing to this project. Within a year, we had a complete set of drawings ready for translation into the Guatemalan building code. About the same time, a young married couple from that team sensed the call of God upon them to return to Guatemala to provide us with technical oversight for the construction of the building. We thank God daily for Todd and Shana Davis for their excellent commitment to the Lord and to this work here as it has played out in the development of this project.Engineers Ministries International is a Christian based ministry organization with a network of gifted engineers who also have a heart for God's work around the world. EMI periodically draws from it's bank of willing professional men and women in order to assist Christian ministries of any denomination who are in need of help with the design phase of such projects as churches, schools, orphanages and clinics etc. Their central offices are in Colorado with regional offices in Africa, India, Central America and Canada. This is a ministry whose time has come. It is growing under the blessing of God as they play such an practical part in the "building of His Kingdom".
